Bare Trees

Just like a thousand times before
Something grips my heart and then I’m gone
I don’t know why I do the things I do
I start believing things that are not true

Sometimes the truth is so familiar
That I don’t want to hear it anymore
Like a joke a man tells over and over
Forgetting who has heard it before

But I’m Coming Back
But only ‘cause you lead me
I come back
I know that you don’t need me
But you want me anyhow
So right now
I’m coming back

I am like the bare trees in an orchard
Aware of what the winter will bring
But lifting up my arms I’m looking upward
Remembering the promise of spring

And I’m Coming Back
But only ‘cause you lead me
I come back
I know that you don’t need me
But you want me anyhow
So right now
I’m coming back
