Broken Car

Waiting outside the railway station
I can smell the diesel in the air
Pacing near the old abandoned boxcars
Wondering if that train will bring you here

The coldest morning I can remember
Confusion and my breath in the air
Holding my coffee with both hands
Holding hope that you’ll be here

The six-o-five is running right on time
And you’re running as if you never cared
Like a broken car
In the railroad yard
It’s far too gone to be repaired

Last night I only slept an hour
And dreamed you had come to meet me here
But now as I stare at every window
I know I will never find you there

The six-o-five is running right on time
And you’re running as if you never cared
Like a broken car
In the railroad yard
It’s far too gone to be repaired

And every car is like a passing memory
I’m watching as far as I can see
Funny how those cars are joined together
When there’s no one standing here but me

The six-o-five is running right on time
And you’re running as if you never cared
Like a broken car
In the railroad yard

It’s far too gone to be repaired

It’s far too gone to be repaired

I'm far too gone to be repaired
